Pet owners celebrate fall with the Woods Humane Society


On Saturday, the Woods Humane Society of San Luis Obispo welcomed local pet owners and their furry companions to celebrate the fall season with the shelter’s Wiggle Waggle Fall Festival.

From 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., people and their dogs could be seen all in disguise participating in many canine and Halloween-inspired activities, such as Woods’ Stuffed-Animal Pull, Pup-Cake Walk, and Bobbing for Tennis Balls. .

“After months of social distancing and virtual events, we are thrilled to be able to take advantage of our warm fall weather to safely host this outdoor festival in honor of the animals that continue to brighten our days and fill our days. our hearts no matter what is going on in the world, ”said Woods CEO Neil Trent. “We would like nothing more than to thank the members of our local community who have supported us through thick and thin by providing them with an afternoon of pure pet inspired fun.”

SLO Animal Services was also present and offered free microchips for pets at their neighboring site, next to Woods.

Those in attendance could also walk around the Woods Pup-kin Patch and make treats in the hosted Pet Fair.

“It encourages people to come to our campus, look around, watch the pets, watch the animals, and enjoy the whole experience of the pets at Woods,” Trent said.
