The Bristol Press – PET OF THE WEEK: Gordo

Gordo is a really good looking guy these days, but it took a lot of work to get him there! When Gordo arrived at the Connecticut Humane Society, his skin was in poor condition from uncontrolled allergies. He used everything from the floor to a plate of food as a scratching post because he was so itchy. Under the care of the staff veterinarian team, Gordo began taking medication, eating special foods, and washing himself with a soothing shampoo. Fortunately, his fur has grown back and he is no longer itchy!

Gordo will have to keep taking his medicine and special food so he can stay comfortable and furry. Gordo is a big slut, and he loves to cuddle, play and hang out. He is a great walker and is also an office assistant. If you’re ready for a wrinkled hippo dog to invade your home, visit to learn more about Gordo. An online request can be found in the profile of each animal.
